Vishni Media Ltd is a small, independent (and irreverent!) production company that’s eager to produce unusual and exciting feature films, plays and documentaries (why choose just one format when you can have all three, right?). We have a strict open-casting policy which means that not only are we not start-struck, but that we hope to utilise the skills and passions of the talented and dedicated actors, directors and crew as much as we can.

We’re very excited to announce the start of pre-production on our first feature, A Levels, a scathing Restoration satire (yes, we get the anachronism: a Restoration satire set in the 21st century!) on post-Brexit London and the English bourgeois. Read neurosis, paranoia, recreational drug abuse…and, err, A Level results and that’s just a description of the lives of the progeny! As their offspring slip further down the slope of adrenaline-fulled decadence, the coolly detached parents are, by day, busy laundering money for rich Arabs propping up London’s property market. And, by night? Well, watch the movie!

To mark the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, we are honoured and proud to be working on a first-ever all-Indian production of King Lear. Never before has the play had an entirely Indian/Indian-origin cast. We hope to stage the production in London, New York, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles but, most of all, we’re thrilled by the prospect of touring the production around India!
Know MoreWe’re very passionate about theatre, everything from Greek and Roman to modern, newly-commissioned plays. Heck, you might even catch us tapping our feet at the right kind of musical! And, we believe in making theatre safe and accessible to everyone, especially children and young adults. Which is why, in addition to staging works in theatres, we’re also keen to take productions on tour around schools and universities. Our commitment to making theatre accessible also extends to organising workshops for students.
Documentaries
We’re big fans of documentaries. What other format gives one the opportunity to really dig deep and complement the data mining with rigorous (but entertaining!) analysis? Being passionate about art, we’re currently working on two multi-part documentaries on art; one focusing on the history and development of Modern and Contemporary Art (from the beginning of the 20th century until the present day) and another on the Dutch and Flemish Old Masters.
